The Natural History Museum of China (NHMC) is the only national, comprehensive natural history museum in China. On behalf of China, NHMC conserves, researches, collects, interprets and exhibits natural objects as well as natural heritage of historical, scientific and artistic values. Having adhered to the concept of scientific knowledge popularization and serving the public, NHMC displays natural resources with Chinese characteristics, disseminates the idea of ecological civilization, promotes harmony between man and nature, and devotes itself to improving the scientific literacy of all the people and serving Chinese modernization.

At present, NHMC is building its new venue aiming to become a world-class museum with Chinese characteristics, showcasing China's development as a major country. The new museum covers a building area of 193,800m2, including an exhibition area of 68,000m2. In order to further enrich the exhibitions and meet the exhibition needs for the new halls, we are accessioning large, rare, unique and valuable exhibits, covering the following disciplines: paleontology, geology, zoology, aquatic organism, paleoanthropology, ecology, botany, Chinese medicine, somatology and microbiology. Thus, we encourage you to donate relevant subjects, or provide valuable information or clues, and sincerely  invite collectors, as organizations or individuals, to get in contact wit us as soon as possible.
